• Dairy Days petting zoo and the return of Snake Discovery Company to Viroqua (vernonreporter.com) — Families in Viroqua can look forward to two free, hands-on animal programs this June, both hosted by McIntosh Memorial Library. Dairy Days: Barnyard Bash brings a petting zoo and dairy treats to the Vernon County Courthouse lawn on June 20, while Snake Discovery Company returns to the Viroqua High School gym with live reptiles on June 25. 
• Tuition slated to increase at UW campuses for fourth year in a row (stevenspointjournal.com) — Viroqua gets a brief spotlight as home to Thoreau College while Wisconsin’s public universities prepare for another tuition hike. The UW System is proposing a 2% increase for in-state undergrads for 2026-27, the fourth straight yearly bump, to help fund employee raises and other costs. Lawmakers are sharply criticizing the plan and accusing regents of being less than transparent.
