• UW-Whitewater gets $225K to build regional emergency operations center (wkow.com) — Walworth County will be covered by a new regional Emergency Operations Center at UW-Whitewater, funded with $225,000 in federal money to coordinate major emergency response. The center will provide resilient communications, backup power and multi-agency coordination for Walworth, Jefferson and Rock counties, plus the City of Whitewater. Local residents could see stronger disaster preparedness and more organized responses to storms or other crises.
