RINKA, Kapur visit Watertown riverwalk sites (gazettextra.com) — Watertown officials and design firms RINKA and Kapur just walked key riverwalk sites, focusing on engineering needs and how to practically complete the south loop from Main Street to Milwaukee Street. They’re eyeing 111 South Water and shoreline reinforcements, plus potential pedestrian bridges and viewing areas near the dam. Leaders say phasing the project by segments could control costs while building momentum to finish the full riverwalk.

3. Railroad rejuvenation: CPKC line getting fresh railroad ties (wdtimes.com) — Overnight railroad tie replacement is underway along the CPKC line and will wrap up in Watertown by mid-June, bringing extra nighttime noise, lights, and temporary crossing removals. Crews will fully remove and reinstall crossings, which should improve road surfaces, and the work is separate from the planned Hiawatha West Amtrak expansion.
