1 Arrested In OWI Crash; Car Hit Tree, Caught Fire: Police

According to police reports, one vehicle ended up colliding with a tree and another careened into a ditch.

WAUKESHA, WI — On Thursday, Feb. 1 just after 8 a.m., Waukesha police were dispatched to highway 59 and Grand Ave. for a two-vehicle accident.

According to police reports, one vehicle ended up colliding with a tree and another careened into a ditch. Reports indicated that an eyewitness who called police told an officer that the driver of the vehicle that hit a tree had his vehicle catch fire. Bystanders who were in the area were able to get the fire out, according to the report.

Waukesha police responded to the scene, and upon investigation, Jerry J. Boldon Jr., 33, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, failure to keep a vehicle under control and OWI-3rd offense.

Police told Waukesha Patch that Boldon was transported to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital by EMS for medical treatment from the crash. A warrant was obtained from the Waukesha County Circuit Court for a forced blood draw, and OWI processing was handled at the hospital, according to police.

Police told Waukesha Patch that once Boldon was medically cleared, he was transported to the Waukesha County Jail for a mandatory 12-hour hold.
