'Helping Nathaniel' 11-Year-Old Loses Right Arm On Christmas

Nathaniel, 11, lost his right arm in a Christmas Day crash in Waukesha County. The family is now trying to help him get a new right arm.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Loved ones are raising money to help an 11-year-old Waukesha County boy who lost his right arm during a Christmas Day crash.

Officials said the crash happened at 1:30 a.m. near Highway 67 near Highway D in Ottawa. According to a FOX 6 report, an 11-year-old boy identified as Nathaniel Froemming was injured in the crash, and had to be extricated from the vehicle along with his father.

According to information posted on Nathaniel's Go Fund Me page, Nathaniel was on his way home after spending Christmas Eve with his father. During the drive, Nathaniel's father lost control of his truck. The truck hit multiple trees and brush before it came to a stop. Nathaniel took most of the impact from the trees and the final tree that stopped the truck.

Nathaniel was transported via Flight for Life to Children's Hospital. The GoFundMe page says Nathaniel has undergone multiple surgeries since Christmas morning. One surgery was to attempted to repair and reattach his right arm, however that surgery was not successful. The FOX 6 article said that Nathaniel is a pitcher on his baseball team, and also a football player.

Nathaniel will have to undergo intense therapy and will need a lot of help, the GoFundMe page states. Loved ones are raising money to not only help with medical bills but also to eventually provide him with a functional prosthetic arm.

Waukesha Patch has reached out to loved ones to find out if there's a way to offer assistance to the family during this difficult time.
