16-Year-Old Driver Safe After Downtown Rollover Accident: Report

Police told Patch that the driver was not injured in the accident and that the driver would be cited for a moving violation.

WAUKESHA, WI — Authorities in Waukesha say a 16-year-old is okay after a rollover accident near the Steaming Cup in Downtown Waukesha on Thursday afternoon.

According to Waukesha police call logs, officers responded to the accident scene near the intersection of W. Main Street and Clinton Street at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23 on a report of a two-vehicle accident.

Waukesha police told Patch that the driver of an SUV was looking at a GPS display while behind the wheel and drove through a red light. The vehicle was struck on its passenger side by cross traffic, and ended up rolling over onto its side and eventually onto its roof.

Police call logs say that the driver was pulled out of the vehicle after a person walking in People's Park saw the accident and called 911.

Police told Patch that the driver was not injured in the accident and that the driver would be cited for a moving violation.
