17-Year-Old Illinois Car Theft Suspects Identified After 100 MPH Chase
Two 17-year-olds were arrested by Waukesha Sheriff's deputies after they reportedly stole a car and fled authorities at 100 miles per hour.

WAUKESHA, WI — Two 17-year-olds were arrested by Waukesha Sheriff's deputies after they reportedly stole a car and fled authorities at 100 miles per hour and later tried fleeing officers on foot.
On Monday, June 5 at about 1:30 am, a deputy from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding that was traveling eastbound on I-94 in the area of Hwy 83.
The vehicle exited I-94 at Hwy 83, continued through the area and eventually entered I-94 eastbound at Hwy 83 again. The vehicle continued to flee at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Deputies effectively deployed stop sticks and the vehicle exited I-94 at Pewaukee Road and came to a stop at River Lane and Pewaukee Road.
Kyle McGowan, 17, of Chicago has been arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle without consent, fleeing an officer, obstruction and possession of THC. He is currently being held in the Waukesha County Jail on a $30,000 cash bond.

The other person involved, Ashley Huerta, 17, of Calumet City, Illinois, has been arrested and is facing charges of resisting an officer and possession of THC.
The vehicle is a 2016 Kia Sorento containing Illinois temporary license plates. The deputy was advised that the vehicle had been stolen from Illinois several days earlier and was reported to have contained a gun at that time.
The two occupants of the vehicle both fled south on foot. Huerta was located immediately and taken into custody. McGowan refused to stop and continued to run south. A search of the area was conducted but the male subject was not immediately found.
A reverse 911 call was initiated to the area residents to advise them of the situation and the description of the suspect. The community had been advised to lock all the doors and to call 911 if they observed anyone matching the description. Shortly after 5:00 am. we received a call of a subject matching the suspect description in a shed in that area.
With the help of the City of Waukesha Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol, a perimeter was established and the subject was subsequently taken into custody shortly before 7:00am.
