2015-2016 Gold Attitude Dance & Poms Team Auditions

If you are interested in becoming a member of the 2015-2016 Gold Attitude Dance & Poms Petite or (Junior) Select Teams and would like complete audition information, please attend our Information Meeting on Tuesday, March 31st from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Banting Elementary Gym. Auditions for the 2015-2016 season, which runs from April 2015 - March 2016, will be open to ALL Waukesha County students, both girls AND boys, going into 3rd-9th grade for the 2015-2016 school year. There will be a Mandatory Petite Team Placement Clinic on Tuesday, April 14th from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Banting Elementary Gym. The Petite Team is open to students going into 3rd-5th grade. Everyone that attends the Placement Clinic and agrees to our Code of Conduct will be offered a position with the team. The Placement Clinic will help the staff assess skills and technique for “placement” in formations and routines. The Petite Team will practice for 90-minutes once a week, attend various community events, perform with the Select team and compete 2-3 times during the season. The Petite Team is a great place to start for anyone who would like more experience with a competitive dance team.

There will be TWO Mandatory Clinics for Select Auditions on Monday, April 13th & Wednesday, April 15th from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Banting Elementary Gym. Those interested will learn a 1 1/2 minute routine consisting of Jazz, Hip Hop & Pom technique/skills.

There will be a FINAL Audition for the Select Team on Thursday, April 16th from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Banting Elementary Gym. Participants will perform the routine learned during the clinics in groups of 3-4 in front of a panel of qualified dance judges from the MSOE Dance Team, the Milwaukee Brewers Diamond Dancers and the Alliance Dance Network. Final results for the Select Team will be announced on our team website and Facebook page.

The Gold Attitude Dance & Poms Team recently won two National Championship titles in Junior Jazz & Junior Hip Hop at the 2015 WOW Factor Sports Dance Nationals in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, February 7th. In addition, we had a National Champion in Junior Jazz Solo, Junior Jazz Duet & Junior Jazz Trio named at this event.

The team also attended the 2015 WACPC All Star Dance State Championship on Saturday, March 15th, where they received 3rd place in Junior Hip Hop, Junior Duet & Junior Trio. This is a wonderful accomplishment considering we were the only team NOT from a dance studio to place in the Top 3 at this competition.
