Mani Was Pregnant With Killer's Child; Suspect Charged: Police

WAUKESHA, WI — A 27-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with the shooting and stabbing death of Waukesha woman Shannon Mani, 21, saying that Mani was pregnant with their child at the time of her death.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, Quentin Neal, 27, has been charged with first degree intentional homicide, and has also been charged in the death of their unborn child.
Police say Mani was last seen on Friday, April 13, in Waukesha at her home. According to an Associated Press report published Monday afternoon, Mani was shot and stabbed by a known suspect and died on Friday. She was later found on Milwaukee's northwest side at about 10 a.m. Monday. The criminal complaint stated that Mani's body was found in a storage locker near 76th St. and Bradley St. in Milwaukee.

According to the criminal complaint, Neal admitted to police that he shot and stabbed Mani on April 13 following an argument that took place between the two of them. When Investigators began working the case, they learned that Mani had a cell phone conversation with Neal on April 13 in which Mani indicated she was pulling up to Neal's residence as they spoke.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators questioned Neal about this interaction. Neal reportedly changed his story at least one time as he spoke with investigators.

When police conducted a search warrant at Neal's residence, they found the presence of blood in the basement. According to the criminal complaint, at that point, Neal admitted that he had met Mani on April 13 and participated in the incident that led to her death.
