236 To Lose Jobs In Waukesha GE Layoffs: Report
General Electric said it will be selling its Distributed Power business to Advent International, a private equity firm.

WAUKESHA, WI — General Electric has announced that it will permanently close its GE Distributed Power Facility in Waukesha, resulting in the loss of 236 jobs.
According to a Milwaukee Business Times report, GE said it will be selling its Distributed Power business to Advent International, a private equity firm.
The Waukesha plant is part of that deal, which currently employs about 400 people.

The BizTimes report stated that Advent expects to keep about 230 employees on until 2019. The plant will close on April 30, 2019. Layoffs will start on Aug. 31.
According to Wisconsin Department of Workforce figures, 76 machinists, 63 assemblers, will be subjected to layoffs. Of all positions, 205 workers are hourly and 31 are salaried.
