26-Year-Old Woman's Car Burst Into Flames In Crash: Sheriff

Authorities say the woman was likely ejected from her vehicle when it crashed into a tree. The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.

DODGE COUNTY, WI β€” Authorities in Dodge County say a 26-year-old Waukesha County woman was seriously injured in a crash over the weekend, saying her vehicle became fully engulfed in flames when she crashed into a tree.

On Feb. 3 just after 1:30 a.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Highway S and Highway 67 in the Town of Hubbard located in Dodge County.

Authorities say that a preliminary investigation by traffic investigators revealed that a 26-year-old Muskego woman was driving a 2011 Ford F150 East on Highway S approaching the intersection with Highway 67. Sheriff's officials said that she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway S and Highway 67, and crossed both lanes of traffic.

Authorities said her vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree line where the vehicle struck a large tree. Authorities say it appeared that the woman was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and that her vehicle then became fully engulfed by fire.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, the woman suffered serious injuries and was taken by Flight for Life to the Aurora Summit Hospital. Authorities say that it is believed that alcohol was a factor in this crash. Once the fire was extinguished and the area searched, the woman was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
