3 Days To Go: Salvation Army $35,000 Short Of Goal

The Waukesha Salvation Army said that gifts can be made in a variety of ways in addition to Red Kettle donations.

WAUKESHA, WI — With three days to go in the 2017 Waukesha Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign, the local charity says it is still needs to make up $35,000 to reach their goal.

“Those who have given this year have been very generous," Waukesha Corps officer, Major Nelson de La Vergne, said. "The 2017 shortfall is caused by our not having been able to secure enough fulltime bell ringers to bring those donors to the county’s fifty Red Kettle locations.”

“When a Red Kettle stands unattended and silent, with no one greeting people and drawing attention,”
De La Vergne said, “we can lose hundreds of dollars every hour.”
