Authorities Identify Man Who Died In Home Invasion
Authorities are reporting that a 33-year-old man invaded the home of a 76-year-old man and died after a struggle.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — New details have been released by authorities in Waukesha County after the initial report that a 33-year-old man is dead following an attempted burglary in the Town of Wales.
The man who died in the home invasion has been identified as Brandon Kovacs, a 33-year-old man from Wales. According to court records, Kovacs had a history of drug-related charges on his record, including possession of narcotics in 2014 and possession of narcotics with intent to deliver in 2011.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's office said that their investigation revealed credible evidence to lead detectives to consider that the act of making forced entry into the residence may have been induced by or contributed to drug use.

The Home Invasion
Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say that at just after 6 p.m. on May 30, deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the Village of Wales. They said that a woman in the house discovered that the man was trying to force himself inside. She called authorities and her 76-year-old husband confronted the intruder.

Authorities are saying that the 76-year-old man became embroiled in a physical confrontation with Kovacs. Authorities said that during the altercation, the man became unconscious and unresponsive.
Deputies reported that Kovacs was found laying on the ground. Authorities said they arrived within five minutes of the emergency call, and immediately began emergency first aid and resuscitation efforts, which were ultimately unsuccessful.
According to Sheriff's officials, Kovacs became unresponsive during the altercation and was later pronounced dead follwing treatment at the Aurora Medical Center in Summit.
" We have no information to believe that other actors or persons of interest are involved or at large," Waukesha County Sheriff's officials said in a prepared released shortly after the incident.
