4 Waukesha BB Gun Suspects Caught After Muddy Rampage: Report

Police told Patch that all four underage suspects were eventually located after a perimeter was set up in the area.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Police in Waukesha say they made one arrest, and cited two more in an incident involving a rampaging group of people armed with BB guns.

According to Waukesha police reports, officers responded to the 800 block of E. Sunset Drive. just after 11 p.m. on April 17 on a report of a reckless vehicle that was eventually located behind Meijer.

When police arrived, they reportedly found the vehicle stuck in a field and covered with mud. Police said four teens fled the scene before police could arrive, leaving behind three realistic-looking BB guns, Waukesha police told Patch. According to reports, the teens who fled the vehicle were said to be involved in two BB gun-related incidents earlier in the day.

According to reports, one incident was reported just before 10:30 p.m. near the 1200 block of Grand Ave. in Waukesha. In that incident, police reports noted that a witness called authorities saying that a group of kids was shooting off a BB gun while driving up and down the street.

In another incident reported that evening, a resident on the 2300 block of Finch Court called police saying that there were multiple BB gun marks on their car and on their house.

Police told Patch that all four underage suspects were eventually located after a perimeter was set up in the area. One was arrested for having an outstanding arrest warrant, two more were cited for discharging BB guns in the city, and the fourth was released with no charges or citations, police said.

Waukesha police said that the vehicle was stuck in the field overnight, and Elders towing pulled the vehicle out the next day.
