Waukesha Armed Robbery Foiled By 85-Year-Old Man

Authorities report an 85-year-old man stood up to an armed robber who threatened to shoot his wife if he didn't comply with his demands.

WAUKESHA, WI — Authorities say an 85-year-old man stood up to an armed robber who threatened to shoot his wife if he didn't comply with the robber's demands. Waukesha police responded to the 300 block of South Comanche Lane for a report of a robbery in progress just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

According to police reports, a man wearing a black mask and carrying a black handgun attempted to rob an elderly caller while he was in the garage.

According to the victim's report to police, the man told police the assailant told him to turn around and put his hands behind his back so they could be bound with plastic ties.

The robber told the man that if he turned around, he would go inside and shoot his wife, according to police.

The suspect was inside the garage for about five minutes as he tried in vain to get the elderly man to turn around. But the suspect ran away, because the man wouldn't do what he wanted him to do.

When police arrived, they observed that the man was bleeding from the right eye and required medical attention.

Police and the department's K-9 unit attempted to search for the armed man, but he was not located. Police are still looking for him and investigating the incident.
