Apple Harvest Festival Returns To Waukesha For 38th Year

WAUKESHA, WI -- The Annual Apple Harvest Festival returns for its 32nd year on Saturday, Sep.22 at the Retzer Nature Center. The event is offering an apple market, arts and crafts vendors, a beer garden, live music, and many family-friendly activities from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Retzer Nature Center is located at S14W28167 Madison St. in Waukesha.

“This festival is a great opportunity for residents to welcome fall with fun activities, food, drink, and homemade apple desserts,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow in a prepared statement. “The horse-drawn wagon rides and scarecrow displays are always popular with visiting families.”

The Heirloom Apple Market will have 38 apple varieties and fresh apple cider. Visitors can also purchase apple pies, apple crisp, caramel apples, and apple cider ice cream floats. The family-friendly Delafield Brewhaus Beer Garden will be serving food and beverages, including ‘Retzer Apple Ale’ beer. Live folk music from Apple Jam Mt. Dulcimer Band will entertain all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the apple items, visitors can shop 40 arts and crafts vendors and bid on items at the Friends of Retzer Nature Center’s Silent Auction. Other activities and events are scattered throughout the day. Families will enjoy Scarecrow Lane, a nature-inspired Passport Expedition, games and crafts in the Children’s Area, Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides, shows at the Horwitz – DeRemer Planetarium, and stories at the John and Florence Retzer Reading Corner.

Admission is $5 per car, cash only. Friends of Retzer Nature Center members receive free admission.
