Armed Prowler Evades Police After Attempted Burglary
Waukesha police are searching for a man who reportedly attempted to break into a woman's apartment while armed.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police are searching for a man who reportedly attempted to break into a woman's apartment while armed, police reports say.
Waukesha police responded to the Westgrove apartments on the 2000 block of Macarthur Rd. just before 2:30 a.m. Friday on a report of a burglary in progress.
According to police reports, a woman called police because she believed she saw someone trying to break into her residence. She believed the person was armed because she saw the suspect run from the residence while carrying a gun.

According to reports, the man was driving a blue Ford Focus with Milwaukee Brewer vanity plates. He reportedly ran down the railroad tracks and was wearing all black at the time of the police call.
Waukesha police attempted to track down the man, who was noted to not be a legal conceal-carry holder. He also reportedly had a prior conviction for prowling and disorderly conduct while armed.
