Two art exhibitions will open at Carroll University on Monday, Sept. 16, and be displayed through Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013. A reception will be part of Carroll’s Homecoming activities on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. All gallery visits are free and open to the public.
The debut exhibit in the new Paddock Bliss Gallery is by Jen Moon, an assistant professor of art who teaches photography and digital media at Carroll. Her series, “I’ve Been There: A Namesake Tour of Iowa,” features towns in Iowa with famous names, such as international locations (Jamaica and Rome) or familiar namesakes (Orient and Jefferson), and documents the spaces that give shape and definition to these locales. This gallery is located in Main Hall, 120 N. East Ave.
The Marceil Pultorak Atrium Gallery of Humphrey Art Center, 238 N. East Ave., will feature mixed media works of the Carroll University Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition.
