Baton Mistook For Gun During Road Rage Incident: Police
A motorist called police after mistaking another angry driver's extendable baton for a gun during a mutual road rage incident, police say.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police had to advise two quarreling motorists - briefly holding one at gunpoint according to reports - after one of the motorists mistook an extendable baton for a gun.
Waukesha police responded to the intersection of Woodburn Rd. and Pebble Valley Rd. just before 3:30 p.m. on April 22 on a report of a road rage incident.
Waukesha police told Patch that one driver pulled a metal baton up and showed it to the other driver, fearing that the other wanted to start a fight. The other driver thought it was a gun and called 911.

Police say that no gun was located inside the suspect's vehicle, but the baton was located inside.
According to police reports, both motorists were involved in a mutual road rage incident in which one felt the other cut him off near the intersection of Woodburn and Grandview. The argument escalated until police were called.

Police said that both parties were "heavily advised of their behavior." No charges were filed.
