Authorities Identify Bicyclist Who Died In Crash

Authorities say that a 71-year-old man behind the wheel struck a bicyclist who was also a husband and father of three children.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 57-year-old bicyclist in Waukesha County has died after authorities say he was fatally struck by a driver Thursday evening in the Town of Delafield.

On Tuesday, authorities have identified that man as Brian Yagoda - a husband, father of three children and a pediatrician with the ProHealth Medical Group in Muskego. According to a CBS 58 report, a funeral service will be held Saturday in Pewaukee.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's office, on Thursday just after 5 p.m. the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office and the Town of Delafield Fire Department responded to a report of a car versus bicycle accident on Golf Road west of Maple Avenue.

Authorities are reporting that while a bicyclist, later identified as Yagoda, was traveling east on Golf Road, a vehicle traveling the same direction struck him. Yagoda was transported to Aurora Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc where he died from his injuries.

Sheriff's officials are saying that the driver of the vehicle is a 71–year-old man from Waukesha. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was cooperating with the investigation.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with accident reconstruction and the accident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office.
