Book-Returning Boy Has Bike Stolen Within Minutes

A boy returning a library book at the Waukesha Public Library had his bike stolen in a matter of minutes on Monday.

WAUKESHA, WI — A boy returning a library book at the Waukesha Public Library had his bike stolen in a matter of minutes on Monday.

A Waukesha parent's son ran into the library to return a book just after 9:30 p.m. Monday to return a book, and when he went outside, he saw a known suspect riding off with his bike.

According to police, the boy's silver and gold race bike with stickers and a ripped seat was taken by the man. An eyewitness saw the suspect take it as he was traveling with two other people who headed north through Cutler Park.

Police responded and located the suspect, who was taken into custody.
