Carroll Jazz Ensemble spring swing

The Carroll University Jazz Ensemble will perform Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in Shattuck Music Center, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. This event is free and open to the public.

The Jazz Ensemble performs both traditional and contemporary jazz music. Students are instructed at the highest level, and are given the opportunity to study the art of improvisation and to perform in both big band and small group settings.

This concert will feature classic jazz styling, and as director Pete Lange said, “Swing is the thing.” An instrumental and vocal music teacher at Catholic Memorial High School, Lange was appointed director of the Jazz Ensemble in 2012.
