Carroll professor exhibits at Delafield Arts Center

Pacia Sallomi, professor of art at Carroll University, will have work on display at Delafield Arts Center from April 12 through June 30, 2013.

Pacia Sallomi, professor of art at Carroll University, will have work on display at Delafield Arts Center, 803 Genesee St., Delafield. The “Invitational Exhibition” opens April 12, 2013, and runs through June 30.

“Magic Circle” is a painting from Sallomi’s Roundabouts series. She said, “The series is inspired by the work of Aboriginal artists and Indian mandalas, but it began through the rather mundane experience of getting lost on back-road roundabouts in France. I began thinking about the way we structure the experience of getting from one place to another. All the paintings in this series are based on aerial photographs of actual places. These are the markings of contemporary life on earth. When painted they become tools for contemplation.”

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. All visits are free; donations are accepted. For more information, contact the Delafield Arts Center at 262.303.4865 or visit www.delafieldartscenter.org.
