Carroll University Commencement will be May 12

More than 620 students will receive diplomas at Carroll University's Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2013, including 19 who are Carroll's first graduates of Physician Assistant Studies.

More than 620 students will receive diplomas at Carroll University’s Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2013. The graduates include about 540 expected to earn bachelor’s degrees, 41 expected to earn master’s degrees, including 19 who are Carroll’s first graduates of Physician Assistant Studies, and 43 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees.

Nearly 5,000 parents and guests will attend Carroll’s traditional outdoor ceremony, marked by bagpipers and carillon music, which will begin at 1 p.m. on the lawn in front of Main Hall on East Avenue. It will be preceded by a baccalaureate ceremony at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of Shattuck Music Center on East Avenue at Wright Street.

The keynote speaker will be Mr. Dorval R. Carter Jr., a 1979 Carroll graduate, a member of Carroll’s Board of Trustees, and chief counsel of the Federal Transit Administration. The Class of 2013 speaker is Robert Marks, a philosophy, politics and economics major from Mundelein, Ill.
