Burglary on Hinman Ave.: Police

When the woman walked into her apartment, she said the door was kicked off the hinges.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police responded to an apartment on the 200 block of Hinman Ave. Just after 2 a.m. Saturday on a report of a burglary in progress.

According to police reports, a woman called police after she arrived home and noticed that all of the lights were on in her apartment. She told police that they were all off when she left.

When the woman walked into her apartment, she said the door was kicked off the hinges. When police arrived, they reported that the door was ajar, as the woman said, and it appeared that a person forced entry while she was away.

Police set up a perimeter around the apartment as they investigated. By about 2:30 a.m., the apartment had been cleared and a criminal case was created by the department. The investigation is ongoing and a suspect has not been identified yet.
