WAUKESHA, WI -- A homeowner got a scare over the weekend after a Christmas decoration fell from his tree, leading the resident to believe that a break-in was taking place.
Police in Waukesha responded to a home in the 2100 block of Kilps Drive on Jan. 12 on a report of a burglary in progress.
According to police reports, officers were called to the scene just after 2:30 a.m. on a report that the homeowner heard the Christmas bells on his doors jingle. The homeowner believed that someone was trying to break in.

Reports stated that officers investigated the case, did not see any sings of forced entry and saw that the home's entrances were still locked.
According to reports, a bell that was hanging on the resident's Christmas tree fell, causing the noise that alerted the homeowner.
