Charming Charlie To Close All Wisconsin Stores

WAUKESHA, WI — Jewelry and accessories retailer Charming Charlie has filed for bankruptcy and will close all of its 261 U.S. stores by the end of August, including four in Wisconsin. The news marks another closing in what's been a rough couple of years for retailers in the area.

The specialty retailer became known following its 2004 opening for grouping women's fashion accessories. However, recent times have proved tough for Charming Charlie and the retailer closed 100 locations last year, Dallas News reported.
The retailer said the decision to file for bankruptcy again was made "after the implementation of numerous cost-reduction measures" which failed to stabilize the business and ensure profitability.
