Coaches Who Struck Referee Likely To Face Charges: Police
Two UW-Rock County coaches may face charges after police say they assaulted a basketball referee after a game against UW-Waukesha.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Police say that two UW-Rock County basketball coaches may face charges after being implicated in a Wednesday, Jan. 3 incident in which a basketball referee was assaulted after a basketball game against UW-Waukesha County.
Prosecutors say that coaches Jshon Mosley and Jamal Mosley were cooperative and turned themselves in to police. Authorities are recommending charges of disorderly conduct and battery to the Waukesha County District Attorney's office in connection with the incident.
According to Waukesha Police, just before 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to UW-Waukesha on a report of a battery complaint. An initial investigation by police has revealed that a basketball referee was assaulted after the game by UW-Rock County coaches. Police say the victim was injured but did not require immediate medical attention.

According to multiple reports, Jamal Mosley was placed on leave after the incident.
According to a Janesville Gazette report, UW-Rock County issued a statement following the incident. The school’s statement reads:

“Our campus communities are distressed by this unfortunate event and are fully cooperating with law enforcement in Waukesha. We must also focus on providing resources for our students and on completing the basketball season for the UW-Rock County Rattlers men’s team.”
