Council Picks Wilke To Fill Vacant 14th District Seat

Sarah Wilke has been appointed as the next 14th-District Alderman following the resignation of Bill Boyle on Aug. 31.

WAUKESHA, WI -- The Waukesha Common Council voted Sarah Wilke, 35, as the new District 14 Alderman on Sep. 18, replacing Bill Boyle, 75, who resigned Aug. 31 for personal reasons.

In her application, Wilke said that she has a strong interest in her local government, and believes in service to others in her community.

Wilke is an occupational therapist by trade, earning her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary College in 2009. She has been employed in the Pewaukee School District, at Linden Grove and the Premier Medical Staffing Agency over a period from 2010 to 2017.

"I think that every department is important and it's a balancing act that [the Council] is performing admirably to try to solve our budget issues. I look forward to these really big projects that are coming as well," Wilke said during her candidate statement before the council.

Wilke received seven of the overall 13 ballots cast, earning her the appointment. She will be up for election in April 2019.
