Credit Card Skimmer Found On PNC Bank ATM Machine: Report
The skimmer was found on a Waukesha PNC Bank ATM. While at an ATM, consumers can protect themselves in a couple of ways.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Police in Waukesha say a local bank contacted police after finding a skimming device on their ATM machine.
According to police reports, Waukesha police responded to the PNC Bank at 2116 E. Moreland Blvd. just before 2 p.m. on April 15 on a report that bank personnel discovered the skimming device.
Reports state that bank personnel removed the skimmer, and then contacted police to document and investigate the incident.

There isn't any word yet from authorities on how long the skimmer was in place, or the type of skimmer that was deployed on the ATM machine.
Skimmers take one of two forms:

External devices: false card readers that fit over actual card reader.
Internal devices: typically a communications cable with an in-line recording device that is run between the card reader and main board.
While at an ATM, consumers can protect themselves by lightly wiggling the card reader on the ATM. External skimmers may feel loose and come off, or by looking to see if any security seals have been broken on the cabinet. If you see any signs of tampering, tool marks or loose card readers, tell a manager and do not use that ATM.
