Grandfather Dr. William McFarlane graduated from the Milwaukee Medical and Dental School (now Marquette University School of Dentistry) in 1902 and opened his practice in downtown Waukesha. His great enthusiasm and belief that dentistry is the “finest profession” encouraged four of his five children, including Dr. Margaret McFarlane Davies to become dentists.

“My mother graduated first in her class from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1934 as the only female student,” Dr. Davies said. “She instilled in my brother and me the same passion for dentistry that she got from her dad.”
