Driver Arrested In Veterans Park Hit-And-Run: Police

Waukesha Police told Patch.com that a caller reported that a vehicle traveling west on W. Main Street crashed in the area of Veterans Park.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police in Waukesha say they caught up with the driver and a passenger in a hit-and-run accident near Veterans Park over the weekend.

Waukesha police responded to the area of N. West Ave. and W. Main St. just after midnight on Feb. 3 on a report of a hit-and-run accident.

Waukesha Police told Patch.com that a caller reported that a vehicle traveling west on W. Main Street had crashed in the area of Veterans Park.

Police said the occupants of the vehicle were seen fleeing the scene. Reports indicated it was a younger man and woman that had fled. Officers located the both of the people involved in the crash and told Patch that the operator of the vehicle did not slow down enough for the curve and went over the sidewalk.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash.
