Driver Caught Rolling Marijuana Cigarette At Traffic Light: Cops

Police said two officers suffered minor injuries after having to chase a man who was seen rolling a marijuana cigarette at a traffic light.

WAUKESHA, WI — Two Waukesha police officers suffered injuries after they had to chase an apparent impaired driver after a witness called, saying they saw the driver roll a marijuana cigarette at a traffic light.

According to Waukesha Police call logs, officers were sent to the intersection of E. Broadway and Highway 59 on a report of an impaired driver behind the wheel at just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 6.

Waukesha Police told Patch that a concerned driver reported watching the driver of another car roll a marijuana cigarette at the light. The same witness also said the other car was swerving in-and-out of its lane.

Waukesha Police told Patch that additional officers were sent to the scene, to help track the driver down and conduct a traffic stop.

Police said they tracked down the driver and pulled him over. According to police, as the officer was talking with him outside his car, he took off running.

Officers caught up with the man, and arrested him on suspicion of driving while impaired. Two officers received minor injuries during the chase, police said.
