Driver Fled From Highway 59 Accident Scene: Report

WAUKESHA, WI -- Police in Waukesha say they're investigating a traffic incident in which the driver of a vehicle fled the scene after veering off the roadway near Oakdale Drive.

According to Waukesha police call logs, a witness who lives on Dixie called police, saying there was a traffic incident just before 4 a.m. on June 7.

The witness told police they heard the sound of tires screeching and then saw a car end up in the ditch just off Highway 59. The witness said they saw two people run north from the accident.

According to call logs, the person who called police reported hearing one of the people yell "we have to go" as they left the scene.

Police say they eventually caught up with the driver.
