Drivers Spin Out For More than 3 Miles in Waukesha After Oil Spill
A semi truck reportedly struck a light pole and leaked oil as it drove through Waukesha, causing slippery and dangerous driving in the city.

WAUKESHA -- It's the kind of thing you'd expect to see in the movies: a vehicle driving down the road suffers some kind of mishap, an oil leak ensues, and vehicles spin out in its wake.
But that's what happened along a three-and-a-half mile stretch of W. Moreland Blvd. on Monday.
According to police, they responded to a report of an oil slick in the road at the 200 block of W. Moreland Blvd. Monday just after 10 a.m.

Police fielded multiple calls on the soil slick, with residents saying that cars were spinning out on the road, and that the slick seemed to be coming from a vehicle that was on the move - driving eastbound from the railroad crossing on E. Main St.
Police followed the trail of iol back to a large maroon semi tractor with a white trailer.

When police made contact with the truck driver, they learned that the truck hit a light post by the train tracks at Frame Park, causing an oil leak into the storm sewer and into the river.
Police say the length of the spill was 3.4 miles from the point of impact.
The Waukesha Fire Department notified the Department of Natural Resources about the spill, and the spill was contained about 30 minutes after the reported incident.
