A 4,000 lb. elephant escaped from Circus World in Baraboo and wandered the streets until re-captured.

BARABOO, WI — Baraboo, Wisconsin may be the historical home of the Ringling Brothers Circus and the Circus World Museum, but an circus-related incident Friday morning provided residents with a shocking new sight: a 4,000 lb. elephant walking loose in their neighborhood.
Baraboo police had this to say about Friday morning's incident:
"Officers responded to an unusual call this morning. Kelly, one of the Circus World Museum elephants, decided to practice for the #bigtopparade, wandering through one of Baraboo's quiet neighborhoods, stopping to smell--and eat--some of the local flowers. Officers were able to contact Kelly's trainer and assisted the trainer in escorting Kelly back to Circus World."
