Be creative with clay! Make your own ceramic pieces from molding the clay to firing your pieces in a kiln! Explore the various techniques applicable to clay, hand-building by coil and slab as well as throwing on the wheel to ultimately create a series of pieces. All skill levels welcome! Class held at the UW-Waukesha campus. The wood firing will be held at the Field Station, W349 S1480 S. Waterville Rd., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. (Students will be responsible for participating in processing wood and signing up for firing times.) Students will need to purchase course packet, basic ceramic tools and clay (approx. $50). 3.6 CEU
