Pewaukee Schools perform at WSMA Music Festival

Dozens of Pewaukee School District students will perform at the annual Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) Solo and Ensemble Music Festival this Saturday in front of a judge.  Whether performing vocally or instrumentally, as a soloist or in an ensemble, countless hours of practice time has been devoted by each student to perform at their best level of musicianship.  WSMA offers leadership and support for school music programs such as the Music Festival this weekend.  The WSMA mission is to advance music as an integral part of the school curriculum and community life.  Specifically, when a student performs they gain valuable insight through assessment, they receive an increased understanding of music literature and music concepts, they are motivated to continue their study of music, learn established standards of excellence in music performance, and understand the relationship of music experiences to other life experiences.  The public is welcome to observe the hundreds of performances at the Music Festival this Saturday.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  You won't want to miss this inspiring day filled with superb music!  Come support family and friends from Pewaukee and surrounding communities, and enjoy the wide variety of music our students will be performing.
