Fire On Wabash Causes $200,000 Damage To Home: Report
Officials say there was extensive damage to the kitchen and dining room, moderate smoke damage to the basement and second floor.

WAUKESHA, WI — One family has been displaced after a kitchen fire on Waubash Ave. on June 25.
Waukesha police and fire personnel responded to a home on the 100 block of W. Wabash Ave. on a report of a structure fire just after 6:30 p.m. on June 25.
Waukesha Fire Department officials reported that firefighters arrived on the scene of a two-story single-family home with smoke coming from second floor windows and all occupants reported out of the building.

Officials said the fire was found in the kitchen area of the first floor and was quickly extinguished. During an investigations, firefighters also learned that fire was found in the first-floor ceiling which extended up into a second-floor wall.
The fire was investigated jointly by the fire and police departments with the origin in the kitchen and its cause had yet to be determined by the time this story was published.

Official damage estimates range between $190,000 and $200,000 with extensive damage to kitchen and dining room, moderate smoke damage to basement, first and second floors, and moderate damage to a bedroom on second floor.
There were no injuries to any of the residents or fire personnel. Homeowners have alternate shelter with relatives, according to reports.
