Flap Over Service Dog Defused By Police

Waukesha police intervened when an apparent dispute between a son and his mother over a service dog threatened to come to blows.

AUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police intervened when an apparent dispute between a son and his mother over a service dog threatened to come to blows.

According to police reports, a mother called police stating that her adult son was upset and coming to get their family dog, and threatening to break the door down if she didn't answer.

Waukesha police responded to the residence, located 2400 block of Forest Hills Ct. just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday on the call.

When police made contact with the son when he arrived, they learned that the son said the dog was his, and the mother that the dog was hers and wouldn't hand over custody. The son provided paperwork indicating his ownership o the dog.

Police advised the son to take the issue to civil court.
