FLAT TIRE: Scott Walker Presidential Campaign Still Nearly $900k In Debt

Wisconsin Gov. Walker dropped out of the GOP presidential race in September, pledges to retire debt by end of year.

MILWAUKEE — It seemed like only yesterday that Gov. Scott Walker was on top of the political world.

He had won three state elections in four years, the job count was ticking upward in the state, and he was looking like the front-runner in the early GOP race for the White House.

But things didn't go according to plan and Walker - who struggled to distinguish himself in the early GOP field, dropped out of the presidential race in September in part due to money woes.

According to a report by the Journal Sentinel this morning, the debt has dogged the governor, who reportedly is still nearly $900,000 in debt from the campaign.

The Journal Sentinel reported that Walker has said he would pay it off by the end of 2016, but the latest filing shows it won't be easy.
