Gander Mountain Employees Thwart Suspicious Gun Purchase

According to police reports, four men walked into the Gander Mountain just before 7 p.m. Saturday in an attempt to buy two AR-style rifles.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police responded to the Gander Mountain on the 2400 block of E. Moreland Blvd. on a report of disorderly conduct.

According to police reports, the staff refused to sell one of the men the rifles because they felt the sale seemed suspicious and potentially illegal.

The man became argumentative and caused a scene, while he was open carrying a Ruger Semi-Automatic handgun without a magazine, which was in his pocket.

According to reports, a bystander attempted to intervene on the store's behalf, but the man became belligerant at him.

All the men left in a black two-door Dodge Charger with tinted windows without completing the sale.
