Driver, Victim Identified in 'Good Samaritan' Fatal Crash on I-94

A car on I-94 reportedly slammed into a minivan, and the man who pulled over to help with a flat tire, on Saturday night.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Police have identified the victim and the driver of a vehicle that killed a "good samaritan" on I-94 in Waukesha County over the weekend.

The victim has been identified as Peter Enns from Canada. The operator of the striking vehicle has been identified as Frank C Schiller from Oconomowoc.

Schiller will appear in court on Thursday. According to a WISN report, Schiller was out on bail and had an open case in Milwaukee County for his 5th OWI charge at the time of the crash.

The Crash

Enns, 48, died and three people were injured after a car driven by Schiller on I-94 slammed into two vehicles on the shoulder on Saturday night.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, at about 9:00 p.m., Enns pulled over to the shoulder of eastbound I-94 to assist occupants of a minivan with a flat tire.

Authorities say that a vehicle traveling east on I-94 struck the minivan - Enns, who pulled over to help them - resulting in the fatality and three injuries.

Enns was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 56-year-old woman and an 11-year-old child suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The operator of the striking vehicle, Schiller, 37, also suffered non life-threatening injuries.

I-94 eastbound was shut down for six hours, and I-94 Westbound was closed for two hours during the investigation.
