Guthrie Road Fire Causes $50,000 Damage: Report

Officials said that there were no injuries as a result of the fire.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Authorities in Waukesha say a dryer fire on Guthrie Road caused about $50,000 in damage early Monday.

At 7:14 a.m. the City of Waukesha Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 1020 Guthrie Road. Crews arrived on scene and found smoke and fire showing in the basement on the back side of a single-family home.

According to the fire department, everyone in the home safely made it out of the building before the fire department arrived. Officials say the fire was brought under control at 7:35 a.m.

Officials said that there were no injuries as a result of the fire and emergency response. The fire was investigated by the City of Waukesha Fire and Police Departments, who determined that the fire started in a
clothes dryer.

Damage was limited to the laundry area of the basement and the first floor and was estimated to be $50,000.
