High Speed Chase Through Waukesha Ends In Arrest

A police pursuit that began in Mukwonago, passed through Waukesha, and ended in Racine County ended with the driver getting arrested.

WAUKESHA, WI — A police pursuit that began in Mukwonago, passed through Waukesha, and ended in Racine County ended with the driver of the fleeing vehicle getting arrested.

According to Waukesha police, Mukwonago police initiated a pursuit of a possible drunk driver. The driver entered the city of Waukesha, where local police continued pursuit of the fleeing vehicle.

At the time the driver entered Waukesha, police in Waukesha received information that the vehicle may have been wanted in connection with a homicide in Milwaukee, police said.

According to police, officers pursued the fleeing vehicle through the city, as the driver reached speeds of 80 miles per hour on St. Paul near Sunset Drive just before 3 a.m. Monday. Police terminated the pursuit at Highway 164 at Wilmont after the connection to the homicide case was determined to be false, according to police. The total distance of the chase was 6.6 miles as the driver fled into Racine County.

Waukesha police said Racine County Sheriff's deputies took the driver into custody later Monday morning after following the fleeing vehicle to the listed address of the license holder.
