Hit-And-Run Accident Leaves Couple Seriously Injured: Report
Authorities in Waukesha County say Flight for Life was called following a hit-and-run accident.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Waukesha County are reporting that a man is in critical condition and a woman has been seriously injured following a hit-and-run accident.
On Friday, Sep. 7, 2018, at 10:25 p.m., authorities in Waukesha County received a 911 call regarding a crash in the area of Hartling Road and Ridgeview Lane in the Town of Merton.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Merton Fire Department responded.

Upon arrival, the deputies located a single vehicle with severe damage. A 46-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were located inside the vehicle by first responders, according to authorities.
Authorities said the man was transported by Flight for Life for critical injuries and the woman was transported by ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
During the initial stages of the investigation, it was discovered that a second vehicle was involved in the crash that had left the scene. Deputies were able to locate the second vehicle in a driveway a short distance from the crash with damage consistent from the original scene of the incident, authorities said.

Deputies said the 40-year-old man who drove the second vehicle was subsequently taken into custody.
