Kids Playing Chicken With Trains Stopped By Police

Police stopped a group of children on Progress Ave. and S. West Ave. just before 2 a.m. Sunday after they were playing chicken with a train.

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police responded to the area of Progress Ave. and S. West Ave. just before 2 a.m. Sunday on a report of a group of children playing chicken with a train.

According to police reports, approximately five children were playing chicken with passing trains. One child was reported wearing a red sweater and another was wearing a gray shirt. An eyewitness reported seeing two girls and three boys.

Police made contactw itht eh young people. Officers attempted to contact parents for all threee young people without success.

All were reportedly very cooperative and respectful and sternly advised on curfew, and advised future violations may result in citations.

They admitted they were near and on the railroad tracks, but stated they left the tracks long before the train reached them.

They were advised on trespassing on the railroad tracks. All stated they are spending the night at a friend's house and were coming from WalMart, and were headed back to the house for the night.
