Kwik Trip Thief Tried Stealing Man's Phone, Outfit While He Pumped Gas

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police tracked down and arrested a man who tried stealing a man's phone and outfit while he was pumping gas.

Waukesha police responded to the Kwik Trip on N. Grandview Blvd. just before 1 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a theft in progress.

According to police reports on the matter, a man reportedly stole a phone, black shirt, tie and black pants from another man's car while he was pumping gas.

When the apparent victim confronted the thief, he reportedly dropped the stolen phone and took off.

Within several minutes, the man was located by police, and taken to the ground by officers. He was taken into custody just after 1 p.m. and also suspected of retail theft.
