Waukesha police responded to the neighborhood several minutes later and made contact with the man.

Reports indicated that he "only wanted to scare the boys, whom he had asked to stay off his lawn numerous times over the last few years."

According to the report, the man was described by the on-duty officer as a "lawn fanatic" who believed that walking on his grass constituted some sind of vandalism.

The report states that the man showed police there was actually no gun in his case and realized that his behavior was inappropriate.

The children's parents did not wish a criminal complaint against the man, and agreed that they should stay clear of the man's address in the near future.
