Liberty Dance Studio Seeks New Building Approval

The popular dance studio is planning to build an all-new studio on Venture Court. City officials plan to vote on final plans this week.

WAUKESHA, WI — City officials will be voting this week whether to approve the final site plans for a new Liberty Dance Studio. The studio, which is currently housed on the 400 block of Travis Lane in Waukesha, is seeking to build an all-new studio on Venture Court.

According to Waukesha Plan Commission documents, the north half of the new building will contain several dance studio rooms. The south half will have reception space, changing areas, and a small café area for participants and their families.

Earlier this year, city staff requested that the owners of the dance studio change plans to the vestibule area to make it more compatible with the rest of the building, show detailed landscape plans and renderings of all sides of the building, and add more architectural detail to the north and east elevations.

For the final plans, Liberty Dance Studio added a decorative wood screen to the vestibule area to match the screens at either end of the rooftop mechanical enclosures. They also included additional renderings showing the east side of the building. The renderings show significant landscaping surrounding the building, including several small trees.

The Plan Commission expects to vote on the final plans on July 25.
